Yes. The basic version is free forever. No credit card. No ads. No data resale. Advanced AI features are available as an option ($14.99 CAD/month + taxes) if you ever need them.

Free version ($0): track income and expenses, see how much you can pay yourself this month, get observations from Komy based on your own numbers. Advanced version ($14.99 CA/month + taxes): all of that + Komy with deeper analysis without any setup, receipts and PDFs from any device, real-time sync.

Komy is Kompul's assistant. In the free version, it reads your numbers and gives you simple observations directly on your device, with no connection to an external service. If you want deeper analysis, you can activate Komy's advanced version: either through the $14.99 CA/month + taxes subscription (managed Komy, no setup), or by connecting your own account from an AI provider like Google or OpenAI. In that case, you only pay your actual usage, with no markup from us.

Free version: your numbers sync across all your devices; your receipt photos and PDFs stay on the device that captured them. Advanced and team plans: receipts accessible from any device. In all cases, your financial data is never sold.

When you enter your numbers, you naturally notice where your money is going, and no automated system can do that for you. Auto-import connects your bank, but it doesn't explain anything and often shares your data with third parties. With Kompul, you import your bank statements in one click (or enter them manually), and keep full control.

Encrypted in transit and at rest on Google Cloud. Optional fingerprint or face login. We never sell your data. Admin access exists only for support when you ask.

By design, not oversight. Payroll multiplies regulatory complexity, T4s, CNESST, Records of Employment, and would pull us away from our core mission: financial clarity. Every regulatory layer we add is another layer of mental complexity you have to absorb. We stay focused as a financial vision tool for the entrepreneur. For payroll, your accountant or a dedicated specialist (Wagepoint, etc.) remains the best, and safest, choice.

For a solopreneur or small service business: yes. Invoicing, expenses, AI receipts, GST/QST, accountant access, and one-click export. We don't replace QuickBooks for businesses with inventory, payroll, or corporate consolidation. We create our own league.

Yes. Invite them with read-only access: they see your invoices, expenses, and financials directly in Kompul. They can export your full fiscal year as a single file (CSV + PDF) with GST/QST summary front and center. Result: they save time, you save money.

Connecting your bank automatically often means sharing your data with intermediaries, and some resell it. With Kompul, you import your statements yourself (a file from your bank, Desjardins, RBC, TD, BMO, BNC) in a few seconds. You keep control of your data and don't depend on any third-party service.
